Dexter Park was a race track that began as a horse track in the late 1800's , and then became a ball field.  A small oval track was made around the ball field (pretty sharp turn behind home plate) and midgets were raced there.  Dexter Park was in what is now Woodhaven Queens right on the Brooklyn line and is credited as being in Brooklyn, or Queens depending on which historical source you check.  Either way, racing was alive in New York City back in the day, and Sprint and Midgets raced there.

These cars use a narrow chassis like the LVJ Champ or Sprints Plus.  Fat rear tires and big motors make them a blast to drive.
